| 2012 Patient-Centered Design Reception Participants enjoyed a fajitas buffet and as we introduced the Patient Empowered Room on opening night! Design Competition winners were awarded. Attendees explored the physical model, as well as a virtual walk through, provided courtesy of Architecture Interactive! All registered attendees were entered in a drawing for a chance to win a free pass to the 2013 Healthcare Design Conference! The winner will be announced first quarter 2013. |

Created by Institute for Patient-Centered Design, Inc., the Patient Experience Simulation Lab is a unique workshop
established to present realistic patient scenarios to demonstrate the importance of patient-centered design. This workshop
was set inside the full scale model of The 2012 Patient Empowered Room. Participants experienced this environment from
the perspectives of the end users, each having the opportunity to move about the space assuming the role of the patient
or family member in a pre-determined scenario. During this process, attendees collaborated with other participants to
identify critical design considerations and to discuss new ideas.
All attendees received a free Patient Empowered Design Toolkit.
All registered attendees were entered in a drawing for a chance to win a free pass to the 2013 Healthcare
Design Conference! The winner will be announced first quarter 2013!
